D.C. police are searching for the driver of a white Chevrolet Tahoe that struck and killed a man in Northwest.
Sergeant Joe Gentile says the driver was traveling south on 16th Street Northwest about 1:45 a.m. Sunday morning when the Tahoe struck a man crossing at the intersection of Harvard Street.
He says the driver of the Tahoe did not stop. Witnesses said the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed.
Gentile says the victim, identified as 25-year-old Elliot Williams of D.C., was taken to Howard University Hospital and pronounced dead.
Police say the Chevrolet had unknown New York tags.
