Man Sentenced to 27 Months for Immigration Violation

A Mexican man has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for harboring illegal immigrants in his Northwest Washington apartment. Carlos Medina pleaded guilty last month to federal charges.

Prosecutors say the 35-year-old Medina also was in the United States illegally.
 
They say he will be deported when he completes his prison term.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?Medina was arrested in June 2006 in a federal investigation into the sale of illegal identification documents on Columbia Road, Northwest.

Authorities say they caught Medina and seven other illegal immigrants in his apartment.

Prosecutors say Medina has three previous immigration convictions and had been deported in 1996, 1997 and 2002.

This may cause others to think twice about harboring illegal aliens. Two years are not worth it. The authorities everywhere are tryiing to get illegal aliens, especially now that they are suddenly involved in a string of rapes, robberies, stolen cars, etc. Yes give them the time, deport them, and then if they come back, give them the same time again. On the other hand, free room and board may seem enticing to them ......hmmmm
