D.C. Police are investigating an early morning shooting in Southeast that left one man dead.
Police were called to an apartment building on the 2500 block of Pomeroy Road around 12:40 a.m. Sunday on a report of shots fired. Once on scene, officers found 30-year-old Jameel Bilal dead with multiple gunshot wounds near the back of the building.
Investigators believe Bilal was shot in his third-floor apartment and then fell or was pushed out the window.
Police have no motives or suspects in the case. Investigators are asking for any witnesses to come forward to help solve the case.
The same block was the scene of a fatal stabbing in June. A 15-year-old boy was charged with second-degree murder in that case.
