Two pre-teen boys have been arrested, accused of setting fire to two homes under construction in Middletown.

The 11- and 12-year-old boys were charged with arson early Wednesday morning.

The state Fire Marshal's office says the boys are accused of setting the fires Tuesday afternoon that destroyed the two homes being built on Wagon Shed Lane in the Glen Brooke development.Authorities say juvenile vandalism was the motive. The fires went to three alarms and melted the siding on two other homes.

Damage estimates could exceed $100,000 for each of the two homes.

Investigators found evidence that a fire was set in a third home, causing about $1,000 damage.

No one was injured.
