Former Vice President Al Gore will open an all-day concert Saturday at the National Museum of the American Indian to coincide with the international Live Earth concerts focused on climate change. Performances by Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood and the R & B band Blues Nation will follow.

The museum's "Mother Earth" event will also feature films, performances and guest speakers, including scientists and cultural leaders from the Native American community.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?It will take place at the museum's Welcome Plaza on the National Mall beginning at 10:30 a.m. and running through 9:30 p.m.

The Smithsonian says a broadcast of the "Mother Earth" concert will be shared with the Live Earth series.

The seven-continent series begins in Australia.

Madonna, Metallica, Ludacris, and Kanye West are among the top names listed in the program backed by former Vice President Al Gore.
